CT Trooper Charged After Rear-Ending Vehicle In Brookfield, Police Say A Connecticut State Police trooper was charged after a two-vehicle crash in Fairfield County. Sgt. Catherine Koeppel rear-ended another vehicle while driving on northbound Route 7 in Brookfield at about 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, according to State Police. Police said both vehicles were damaged, and no injuries were reported. Hudson Valley Woman Who Was Skilled Paralegal, Mother Of 3 Dies At Age 59 A Hudson Valley woman who worked as a paralegal for decades and who was a mother of three has died at the age of 59. Deborah Jeanne Butts Tomanocy, of Pleasant Valley, died at home on Saturday, July 23, according to her obituary. Butts Tomanocy was born in Poughkeepsie, and her family showed their cows with 4H at the Dutchess County Fair for many years. Swastika Found Drawn On Portable Light Trailer At Park In East Meadow An investigation is underway after a swastika was found drawn on a portable light trailer at a Long Island park. The incident happened at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow at about 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, according to the Nassau County Police Department. A Nassau County worker discovered that a suspect or suspects used a marker to draw a swastika on the trailer, which was located on Park Boulevard between ballfield 14 and 15, police said.
