Christina Merry won the "$5,000 A Week For Life" prize from the lottery's "Set For Life" scratch-off game, the Lottery announced on Friday, Jan. 28. Merry is from Glenfield in Lewis County, which is located about 35 miles from Watertown. Trio Charged After Troopers Respond To Report Of Burglary In Progress In Area Three people are facing felony drug charges after police investigated a report of a burglary in the region. Troopers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a home on Old County Road in the Sullivan County town Cocherton at about 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29, according to New York State Police. Covid-19: US Army Announces Plans To 'Immediately' Start Discharging Unvaccinated Soldiers The United States Army announced plans to begin discharging soldiers who refuse to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Fairfield County Man Sentenced For Recording Repeated Sexual Abuse Of A Child A 42-year-old Fairfield County man has been sentenced to decades in prison for producing photographs and videos documenting his sexual abuse of a child. Robert McGuire, of Easton, was sentenced on Tuesday, Feb. 1, to 30 years in prison followed by a lifetime term of supervised release, according to Leonard Boyle, United States attorney for the District of Connecticut. Man Charged With DWI Following Single-Vehicle Crash In Hudson Valley A man is facing charges after police said he drove with a blood alcohol content more than twice the legal limit and crashed his car.
