Police Officer In Hudson Valley Dies In Off-Duty Snowmobile Crash Upstate A police officer from the Hudson Valley died in an off-duty snowmobile crash in upstate New York. Nor'easter: Here's How Many Crashes CT State Police Responded To During Storm, Other Stats Connecticut State Police announced the number of crashes troopers responded to during the weekend's Nor'easter. State Police said on Saturday, Jan. 29, between midnight and 11:59 p.m., troopers responded to about 1,212 calls for service. Authorities said 90 of the calls were for motor vehicle crashes. Police said 84 of those crashes were classified as "no injury," and six involved injuries. None of the crashes involved serious or fatal injuries, police said. Police Resue Man Who Collapsed While Clearing Snow In Suffolk County Police have rescued a man who collapsed while clearing snow from his Long Island property. Suffolk County Police Officers Terence Slane and Tristen David responded to a home on Hyman Avenue in West Islip at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29, after receiving a report from a neighbor that a man had collapsed while using a snowblower. Nor'easter: Man Drowns In NY After Falling Into Pool While Shoveling Snow A Long Island man drowned after he fell into a swimming pool while shoveling snow from the nor'easter that moved through the region. Southold Town Police said the man was a senior citizen from the Suffolk County hamlet of Cutchogue, in the Town of Southold on the north fork of Long Island, according to the Suffolk Times. Alert Issued For Missing Nassau County Man Police have asked the public for help locating a 36-year-old Long Island man who was last seen more than a week ago. Jose Luis Andrade-Torres, of Mineola, was last seen in East Meadow at 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 21, according to the Nassau County Police Department. NY Man Admits To Multi-Million Dollar Scheme A 74-year-old New York man has pleaded guilty to a charge related to a multi-million dollar mass-mailing scheme that tricked victims into paying fees for falsely-promised cash prizes.
