Home Health Aide Charged In Death Of 83-Year-Old Man In Garden City, Police Say A Long Island home health aide is facing charges in the death of an 83-year-old man. Gail Godwin, age 63, of Bay Shore, was charged with second-degree manslaughter in the homicide that occurred in Garden City at about 9:20 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 27, according to the Nassau County Police Department. Garden City Police officers responded to a report of an unconscious man at a residence on Monroe Street. Police Search For Suspect Accused Of Using Stolen Credit Cards In Suffolk County Police are searching for a suspect accused of using stolen credit cards at a Long Island gas station. The Suffolk County Police Department said the credit cards were stolen from a pocketbook at a business located on Peconic Avenue in Medford on Thursday, Dec. 9. The credits were then used at about 12:30 p.m. that day at the BP, located at 2665 Route 112. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest. CT State Police Release Info On Number Of Crashes, DUI Arrests During Holiday Enforcement Connecticut State Police released the number of crashes and driving under the influence arrests reported during the holiday weekend.  From midnight on Friday, Dec. 24, through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 26, there were 3,199 calls for service. Police said there were also 107 speeding violations and 11 DUI arrests. There were also 340 crashes investigated, including 34 with reported injuries. One fatality was reported, state police said.
