'For Sale' Sign Placed Outside Laundrie Family Home As Hoax, Lawyer Says A "for sale" sign seen outside of the home of Brian Laundrie's parents was placed there as a hoax, the family's lawyer said in a new report. WFLA, a news station in Tampa, Florida, reported on Tuesday, Nov. 30, that the family is not planning to sell the home, and the family's lawyer Steve Bertolino said the sign outside of the home was a hoax. Covid-19: FDA Expands Booster Vaccine Eligibility To Include Ages 16 & 17 The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has expanded eligibility for Pfizer's COVID-19 booster vaccines to include 16- and 17-year-olds. The FDA said in an announcement on Thursday, Dec. 9, that it has amended the emergency use authorization of the booster vaccine to include those aged 16 and older at least six months after they've completed their primary vaccination. “Vaccination and getting a booster when eligible, along with other preventive measures like masking and avoiding large crowds and poorly ventilated spaces, remain our most effective methods for fighting COVID-19,”…

35-Year-Old From Nassau County Dies After Crashing Vehicle Into Box Truck Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash on Long Island that killed a 35-year-old man. The crash happened at about 4 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9, in Melville, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. SCPD said a 2011 Mitsubishi was traveling on Route 110 when the vehicle struck a 2016 Isuzu box truck that was parked on the shoulder at Ruland Road. The driver of the Mitsubishi, identified as 35-year-old Steven Zaug, of Massapequa Park, was pronounced deceased at the scene, police said. Covid-19: Hudson Valley Café That Opened Just Before Start Of Pandemic To Permanently Close A café that opened in the Hudson Valley just months before the COVID-19 pandemic began will soon permanently close. Driver Charged After Crash Killed Woman, CT State Police Say A 63-year-old man is facing charges in a two-vehicle crash on a Connecticut highway that killed a 58-year-old woman. Mark Herbst, of Hartford, was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 8, and charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle, according to Connecticut State Police. Police said the crash happened at about 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 4 in Glastonbury. Man Accused Of Burglarizing Nassau County Building A 30-year-old man was arrested and accused of burglarizing a building on Long Island. Sequan Kennedy was arrested for an incident that occurred in Inwood at about 10:40 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 5, according to the Nassau County Police Department. Police said Kennedy broke a door and entered a building located at 1 Sheridan Boulevard. NY Man Wins $1M Powerball Prize A man has claimed a $1,000,000 New York Lottery prize. Long Island resident Patrick Cherry, of Bay Shore, won the Powerball prize after matching the first five numbers drawn on Wednesday, Nov. 3, the New York Lottery announced on Wednesday, Dec. 8. The winning ticket was purchased at Stop & Shop, located at 400 Union Boulevard in West Islip. Cherry received his prize as a single, lump-sum payment of $651,000 after required withholdings.
