First New Lirr In Nearly 50 Years To Open This Week The first new Long Island Rail Road station in nearly 50 years is set to open for service this week. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that the LIRR Elmont Station will open on Saturday, Nov. 20. Lt. Gov. 'It's The Tappan Zee!': Brand-New Bill Introduced To Change Official Name Of New Bridge A New York State assembly member has introduced a bill to officially rename the new bridge connecting Rockland and Westchester counties. Democratic Assemblyman Tom Abinanti, who represents the Westchester County towns of Greenburgh and Mount Pleasant, introduced the bill, which seeks to change the name of the new Tappan Zee Bridge, officially named "the Governor Mario M. Police Searching For Man Accused Of Burglarizing Suffolk County Pizzeria Police are asking the public for information as they search for a man accused of burglarizing a Long Island pizzeria over the summer. The Suffolk County Police Department reported that the man threw a brick through the front glass door of Royal Pizza, located at 299 Hawkins Ave. in Ronkonkoma, at about 10:10 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 15. SCPD said the man then entered the business and stole a register containing cash and an iPad. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest. Tips can be submitted by calling 1-800-220-TIPS.

Police On Long Island Issue Alert For Three Missing Teens Police have asked the public for help locating three missing Long Island teenagers. Police said 14-year-old Jadarrius Hunt, 16-year-old Malachi Sweatte, and 16-year-old Jose Castro left the Timothy Hill Children's Ranch in Riverhead together on Saturday, Nov. 13, at about 8 p.m. The Timothy Hill Children's Ranch is located at 254 Middle Road and 368 Middle Road. Man Struck, Critically Injured In Nassau County Crash, Police Say Police are investigating after a 70-year-old man was struck by a vehicle at a Long Island intersection and hospitalized with critical injuries. The Nassau County Police Department reported that the crash happened in North Bellmore at about 3:50 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 15. A 41-year-old man was driving a 2015 GMC when the vehicle struck the 70-year-old man at the intersection of Jerusalem Avenue and Newbridge Road, NCPD said. $2K Reward Offered For Information On Fatal Shooting Of Man In Suffolk County Authorities are offering a $2,000 fast cash reward for information that leads to an arrest in the fatal shooting of a 43-year-old man on Long Island. New York State Police responded to a report of an unresponsive man lying in the roadway on Old Point Road at the Shinnecock Indian Reservation at about 9:50 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5, according to Suffolk County Crime Stoppers.
