Troopers at Bradley International Airport were dispatched to meet an arriving flight from Florida after receiving a report about a fight on the plane at about 12:40 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12, according to Connecticut State Police. Orange County staple Walden Diner closed on Sunday, Sept. 12.  The owners announced that they had made the decision to retire after running the business for 22 years.  "We have many great memories here at the diner," the owners announced. "Memories that we'll treasure forever. And we're so grateful for being able to serve you, our friends and family, and create those wonderful memories. We will miss each and every one of you." Two Vehicles Damaged By Gunfire On CT Highway, Police Report Police are investigating after two vehicles were damaged by gunfire while traveling on a Connecticut highway. At about 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 13, two drivers stopped at separate locations to report that their vehicles had been damaged while they were traveling on Interstate 91 south Middlesex County, near Exit 20 in Middletown, Connecticut State Police said. Nassau County Man Sentenced For Strangling Wife To Death A Long Island man was sentenced for strangling his wife to death in their home last year following an argument. John Gerges, age 61, of Merrick, was sentenced on Monday, Sept. 13, to 21 years in prison and five years post-release supervision.
