NY State Police Ask Public For Help Locating Missing Man New York State Police are asking the public for help locating a missing 39-year-old man. Kevin Lavalley was last seen around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 28, at his home in the town of Mooers in upstate Clinton County, according to troopers. Police said Lavalley is 5-foot-6, and he has black hair and green eyes. Anyone with information is asked to call the state police at 518-873-2750. Police Searching For Men Accused Of Stealing Two Vehicles On Long Island Authorities are asking the public for help identifying and locating two men accused of stealing vehicles from a Long Island residence. The Suffolk County Police Department said the men stole two 2019 Land Rovers from the driveway of a home on Garner Lane in Bay Shore around 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 26. Find video of the incident here. Authorities are offering a cash reward for information that leads an arrest. Police said information can be submitted by calling Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.

Ida: Hundreds Of Rescues Performed During Storm; Downstate NY Remains In State Of Emergency After Tropical Depression Ida brought historic rainfall to parts of the region, flash flooding, and scores of power outages, New York Gov. Suffolk County Police K9 Dies From Sudden Illness A K9 who served in the Suffolk County Police Department for more than five years has died from a sudden illness. SCPD reported that Dallas V, a 6-year-old German Shepherd, died on Wednesday, Sept. 1. Police said Dallas V joined the police department in 2016 and trained with handler Kenneth Michaels. The German Shepherd was trained to detect narcotics and track suspects. Dallas V also visited schools and attended community events. Police Ask Public For Info On Fatal Shooting Of 18-Year-Old In Suffolk County Authorities are asking the public for help identifying and locating the person or people who fatally shot an 18-year-old on Long Island two years ago. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers said Jaifield Gordon was shot on Judith Drive in Coram on Sept. 1, 2019. Officers located Gordan at about 12:40 a.m. inside of a 2013 BMW that had crashed into a parked vehicle and fence in front of 55 Beach Drive. Father Of Two Brothers Killed In Hamptons Crash Plans To File Lawsuit The father of two passengers who died in a head-on crash in the Hamptons in July that claimed the lives of five people is planning to file a lawsuit, according to court filings. Man Accused Of Attacking Uber Driver In Fairfield County A 21-year-old man was charged after police said he assaulted a Uber driver in Fairfield County. Authorities received a report of a breach of peace between an Uber driver and one of his passengers outside of a home on Tulip Tree Lane in Darien at about 11:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 27. Investigators determined that the Uber driver was the victim and suffered minor injures, according to the Darien Police Department. He was then taken to the hospital. Covid-19: Unvaccinated Should Not Travel Over Labor Day Weekend, CDC Says The director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is recommending that those who are not vaccinated against COVID-19 avoid traveling over the Labor Day weekend.
