36-Year-Old Seriously Injured In Single-Vehicle Long Island Crash Police are investigating after a local man was seriously injured in a crash on Long Island. The 36-year-old man, identified as Peter Barreto, was riding a 2021 Yamaha motorcycle in Hauppauge shortly before 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 28, when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a fence in front of 35 Robin Drive, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. Barreto, a Hauppauge resident, was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries, police said. Unruly Airline Passengers Incurred More Than $1 Million In Fines This Year, FAA Says Unruly airline passengers have incurred more than $1 million in fines in 2021 from the United States Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration. Police Search For Man Who Allegedly Stole Package Containing Cellphone In Suffolk County Police are asking the public for help identifying and locating a man accused of stealing a package containing a cellphone from a porch in Suffolk County. A man stole a package off a porch on Charles Road in East Patchogue at about 2:10 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, the Suffolk County Police Department reported. The phone was valued at $1,200, police said.
