Alert Issued For Man Wanted In Westchester For Manslaughter, Burglary Authorities are alerting the public to be on the lookout for a man wanted for manslaughter and burglary in Westchester County. The case was Mount Vernon, according to the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. Perseid Meteor Shower To Reach Peak Soon Look up! The 2021 Perseid meteor shower is set to reach its peak later in August.  Space.com reported that while the meteor shower was set to last from Sunday, July 25 through Wednesday, Aug. 18, it will reach its peak on the night of Thursday, Aug. 12. The site said people in Eastern Europe are in the best position to see the meteor shower, but North Americans should also have a good view of it. The peak is expected to last for about 12 hours, Space.com added. Man Charged After Handgun Found During Traffic Stop On Long Island, Police Say A man was arrested after police said he was in a possession of a loaded handgun without a New York pistol permit on Long Island. At about 2:20 p.m. on Sunday, July 25, police stopped a vehicle for speeding on the Southern State Parkway eastbound near Exit 43 in Islip, New York State Police reported. Police Investigating After Break-In, Slurs Spray-Painted At Long Island Sikh Temple Investigators are asking the public for information after a suspect broke into a Long Island Sikh temple and bias slurs and religious words were spray-painted on the building.
