Renowned Percussionist to Perform Concert At Fairfield Library FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Pequot Library is hosting a free young persons’ concert with percussionist Svet Stoyanov on Saturday, March 12, from 2 to 3 p.m. Stoyanov, winner of the 2003 the Concert Artists Guild International Competition, is the director and associate professor of percussion studies for the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. Man Driving Over 95 MPH On I-84 Charged With DWI, Police Say SOUTHEAST, N.Y. -- New York State Police from East Fishkill have arrested a 23-year-old man from Danbury, Conn., for driving while intoxicated. Troopers stopped the suspect, identified as Miguel A. Guaman-Yuqui, on Interstate 84 for traveling in excess of 95 miles per hour on Sunday, March 6, police report. A subsequent investigation revealed that the suspect was intoxicated at the time of the traffic stop, according to police. Bagged or contained leaves will be picked up curbside once every two weeks from Monday, April 4, until Monday, Dec. 19, at which time the program will cease for the winter. Leaves and yard waste for town collection must be placed in either kraft paper, recyclable leaf bags or empty 32-gallon garbage cans for collection on the day after recycling.
