Schwartz attended the New York Military Academy and earned a degree in economics from Rutgers University. He served his country in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and was stationed at Fort Belvoir.  He was president of commercial trucking and commercial warehouses and was the founder of Bunker Hill Warehouse in Paterson. Nicholas Galasso, 98, Of Fishkill FISHKILL, N.Y. – Nicholas Galasso, a resident of Fishkill, died Friday, Jan. 15. He was 98. He was born on May 23, 1917, in the Bronx to Giuseppe and Maria (Potenza) Galasso. He was 92.Rough volunteered for service during World War II, serving in Brindisi, Italy, with the Army Air Corps as an aircraft mechanic. After the war, he returned to finish high school while still wearing his corporal's uniform. Rough became a corrections officer for New York state in 1952, serving at Green Haven, Matteawan/Fishkill, and Downstate correctional facilities. He retired in 1983 after 31 years of service.
