Catch Area Musicians At 'Barbara's Serenade' In Stamford
STAMFORD, Conn. -- Musicians from Stamford, Bridgeport, Stratford and Greenwich will come together Wednesday for Barbara's Serenade at Stamford's Villa Italia Ristorante & Bar.
Barbara’s Serenade features the sounds of jazz, blues and Latin music with Barbara Occhino on vocals, Steve Clarke on bass, Jim Olbrys on guitar, and Al Brooks on sax/flute.
The show is free and takes place from 7:30-9:30 p.m.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Michael F. Hynes, a resident of Poughkeepsie, died Wednesday, Jan. 20. He was 72.Hynes had served in the Marines and was a member of St. Martin de Porres Church, where he served as a Eucharist minister, and the American Legion. He also worked as a mechanic for Con Edison.
He is survived by his children, Jeanette and Joseph Maruscsak of Ballston Spa, N.Y.; and Daria and William Barry of Rhinebeck. Girishbhai Manilal Shah, 63, Of Poughkeepsie
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Girishbhai Manilal Shah, a resident of Poughkeepsie, died Thursday, Jan. 21. He was 63.
Shah owned and operated Midtown Dollar and Food Store in Kingston for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Shobhana Shah; his sons and daughters-in-law Rugesh and Heli, Saumil and Radhika, and Nilay and Radhika; and granddaughter Navya Shah. He's also survived by his mother, Shardaben Shah, and brother and sister-in-law Pankaj and Kinna Shah.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 22, with cremation following at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
Walter E. Millett Jr., 76, Of Suffern
SUFFERN, N.Y. -- Walter E. Millett Jr., a resident of Suffern, died Thursday, Jan. 21. He was 76.
Millett served seven years from 1957-64 with the U.S. Army Air Defense Command, Nike Ajax and Nike Hercules missle sites in Orangeburg and San Pedro Calif. Millett worked for Daley Tire Service in Monsey for 18 years and worked for Rockland Tire Service in Monsey for two years. In addition, he worked for Orange & Rockland Utilities in Spring Valley for 13 years until retirement in 1999.

WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. -- John T. Rielly, a Wappingers Falls resident, died Thursday, Jan. 21. He was 69.
Rielly worked as an installer for New York Telephone for many years until his retirement.
He is survived by his daughters, Christine Flewelling and her husband, Ian, of Poughkeepsie, and Theresa DeFelice and her husband, Don, of Poughkeepsie; a sister, Rosemary McCauley; grandchildren Brianna, Marissa and Anthony DeFelice, and Alyssa Flewelling; and several nieces and nephews.

He was 91.In 1943, Gaeta joined the Army Air Corp. during World War II.He was assigned to the 450th Bomb Group in Manduria, Italy.
