Norwalk Police Sergeant Retires After More Than Three Decades On The Force NORWALK, Conn. -- Since July 5, 1979, Sgt. James Belmont has been a distinguished member of the Norwalk Police Department. He retired on Dec. 31 as one of the most senior members of the department. The first week of pickups is Monday, Jan. 4, through Friday, Jan.8. The second week is from Tuesday, Jan.19, through Friday, Jan.22.
