Danbury's Wcsu Receives Grant To Reduce Sexual Assault, Dating Abuse DANBURY, Conn. — Western Connecticut State University recently received a $10,000 grant for the "Speak Out Against Domestic Violence" initiative from the Avon Foundation for Women. The campaign and training is to help raise awareness to reduce sexual assault, dating abuse and stalking. During this time, participants will learn the techniques and strategies needed for an understanding of proper intervention. WCSU is continuing its partnership with the Women's Center of Greater Danbury as part of this effort. This is the first year WCSU has received money from the Avon Foundation. …

Wooster School Students Raise Money For Danbury Children's Hospital DANBURY, Conn. -- Students at Wooster School in Danbury recently participated in a 24-hour gaming marathon to support Children's Miracle Network hospitals.In 2014, the school raised nearly $9,000. This year, the students have surpassed that amount to raise $11,875 so far. All the donations from the Wooster event will go to the Danbury Children's Hospital.
