Woman, 62, Killed In Fire ID'd; Investigators Say Central Mass Blaze Started In Kitchen Fire investigators say the three-alarm fire that killed a 62-year-old woman in Worcester County on Thursday, Sept. 7, started on the kitchen stove, authorities said. Jacqueline "Jackie" Doherty died in the 92 Fern Street blaze in Athol that began just before 10 a.m., the State Fire Marshal's Office said. Noon suffers from dementia and wandered away from his assisted living community on Sunday. The 33-year-old Palmer man died on Friday, Sept. 8, after a tree fell on him while he was camping with his fiancée, Katy Workman, in Somerset, Vermont. 86-Year-Old Man Hit, Killed While Riding His Bike In Quincy ID'd Police in Quincy have identified the 86-year-old man who died after being hit while riding his bike on Friday, Sept. 8. Li Dain Wu, of Quincy, was struck around 11:15 a.m. near 478 Southern Artery in the Roxie parking lot. Paramedics arrived and rushed him to South Shore Hospital, where doctors later pronounced him dead, Quincy police said. Tattoo Unravels $1M Fake Check Empire In Quincy: Feds A 41-year-old Quincy man was arrested last week with writing more than 114 bad checks worth more than $1 million total, federal authorities said. Hui Zhang, 41, was charged with one count of bank fraud on Thursday, Sept. 7, the US Attorney for Massachusetts said. Investigators said Zhang opened multiple fake bank accounts from June 2020 through May 2022 and deposited more than $1 million across 114 bad checks.
