Wanaque Mayor: No Issues With Drinking Water WANAQUE, N.J. -- Despite reports of issues with drinking water in nearby towns, Wanaque Mayor Dan Mahler said the borough's supply has no issues. The borough received several questions about their water after reports of groundwater contamination in nearby Ringwood.  The Ringwood contamination area is more than seven miles from the closest well in Wanaque, Mahler said.  Water tests in 2014 and 2015 did not show any detectable amounts of dioxane, the contaminant found in Ringwood, the mayor said.  The report for 2016 will be released in June.
