Demarest Students Receive Japanese Language Awards DEMAREST, N.J. -- Three students from Northern Valley Regional High School in Demarest were honored with the Japanese Lanugage and Culture Study Award" on Friday, March 11.Nathalie Leon, JeeYoon (Jenna) Kim and Na Yeh ( Eileen) Kim received the award during a ceremony in Cranford. They each made short speeches about what they learned by studying Japanese in front of other awardees and family members.  The honor is given annually to students to honor their excellent grades and consistent effort in the Japanese program by the New Jersey Association of Teachers of Japanese.

Monsey Teen Charged After Route 306 Accident RAMAPO, N.Y. --  The Ramapo Police Department charged a 19-year-old Monsey man with driving while intoxicated and driving while ability impaired on Monday, March 14, police said.  The driver was involved in an accident on Route 306 at approximately 11 p.m. He was processed and released pending a court appearance in April, police said.  Ramapo authorities answered 121 calls for service on Monday, including: Nine medical emergencies, two fires, 14 alarm activations, and four arrests including charges for DWI, DWAI-Drugs, suspended operation and a bench warrant, police said.  Police also inve…
