Norwood American Legion Members Purchase Student-Written Book To Donate NORWOOD, N.J. -- Commander Fred Reiman and Steven Minch of the Norwood American Legion Post 272 met with Angela Kohout and Madeline Murillo, two young authors who wrote a book about a veteran with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The book, "Daddy's Heart, My Heart, The Purple Heart," has drawn rave reviews including state citations and a letter from the White House. The Norwood American Legion learned about the book after the Bergen County American Legion sent them a copy. Bergen County Repaves Harristown Road in Glen Rock GLEN ROCK, N.J. -- Harristown Road in Glen Rock will be repaved during the week of April 11. The repaving is scheduled to occur during the schools' spring break. Paving is expected to last through April 15. Motorists are advised to seek alternate forms of travel.

Darien Police Warn Families Of Kidnapping Phone Scam DARIEN, Conn. -- A Darien family was the target of a phone scam that said their son had been kidnapped and held for ransom on Wednesday, March 3, according to police authorities. Scammers use this ploy to get personal and financial information, police said. Often, the victims are instructed to not hang up the phone, take out a large sum of cash and wire the money to a location, police said. Bridgeport's Beardsley Zoo Welcomes Baby Giant Anteater BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A Giant Anteater was born for the first time ever at Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo on Saturday, Feb. 13.The new addition and weighed 2.4 pounds at birth and is just over 14 inches. Glen Rock Teachers Receive Foundation Grants GLEN ROCK, N.J. -- Glen Rock Middle Schoo teachers Melissa Strype and Theresa O'Malley received a $1,500 grant from the Glen Rock Education Foundation to fund "Engineers Teaching Algebra."
