Barricaded Subject Surrenders To Police After Hours-Long Standoff In CT Neighborhood A 38-year-old man was arrested following a standoff with police that lasted nine hours in a Connecticut neighborhood. Troopers in Tolland County responded to a home on South Street in the town of Coventry to serve arrest warrants on Jared Anderson at about 7:15 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 24, according to Connecticut State Police. Man Charged In Hampden County Crash That Killed Passenger, Police Say A 28-year-old Western Massachusetts man has been charged in a single-vehicle crash that killed a passenger after police said he drove under the influence. Kevin Servantez, of Hampden, was charged in the crash that happened at about 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 23, according to an update from the Wilbraham Police Department on Tuesday, Jan. 25. Local Man Purchases $1M Winning State Lottery Ticket At Hampden County Stop & Shop A local man has won a $1 million lottery prize after purchasing a ticket at a Stop & Shop in the region. Hampden County resident Stanley Godere, of Chicopee, claimed a Massachusetts State Lottery's "Diamond Millions" grand prize, according to an announcement from the lottery on Friday, Jan. 14. He plans to invest the money and share it with family, Massachusetts Lottery said. Godere purchased the winning ticket at the Stop & Shop, located at 1282 Springfield St. in Agawam. The lottery said the store will receive $10,000 for its sale of the winning ticket.

Here's When SAT Will Go Completely Online, College Board Says The SAT, a standardized test used for college admissions, is set to move to a completely digital format. Students outside of the United States will start taking the SAT digitally in 2023, and in the US, the digital test will start being administered in 2024, the College Board announced on Tuesday, Jan. 25. Authorities Search For Man Accused Of Stealing $39K Watch From Suffolk County Store Authorities are searching for a man accused of stealing a watch valued at about $39,000 from a Long Island store. A man stole a Daytona Rolex watch from Tourneau at the Walt Whitman Shops in Huntington Station at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 22, according to Suffolk County Crime Stoppers.
