Covid-19: CDC Panel Recommends Vaccine For Kids Ages 5 To 11 A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) panel has voted to recommend the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5 to 11. The panel of vaccine advisers voted unanimously in favor of the recommendation on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 2. CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky is expected to accept the recommendation before the vaccinations can begin for the age group, perhaps as early as Wednesday, Nov. 3. The dose will be much lower than the company's vaccine for teenagers and adults, about one-third of a full dose, according to reports.

Police Searching For Duo Accused Of Stealing ATM Machine From Nassau County Hotel Police are searching for two suspects accused of stealing an ATM machine from a Long Island hotel. The Nassau County Police Department said the incident happened at the Marriott hotel, located at 101 James Doolittle Boulevard in Uniondale, at about 3:50 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2. Police said a hotel employee reported that an ATM machine was missing from a hallway between the front desk and emergency door. Police Investigate Fatal Shooting Of 23-Year-Old On Long Island Police are asking the public for information as they investigate the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old man on Long Island. Rafael Delossantos was found shot in front of his home on Victoria Street in Baldwin at about 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 25, according to the Nassau County Police Department. Delossantos died from his injuries, NCPD said. Anyone with information about the suspect or suspects responsible is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. Authorities Search For Man Accused Of Breaking Window Of Suffolk County Business Authorities are asking the public for information as they search for a man accused of breaking the window of a Long Island business. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers reported that a man broke a window at a business located at 12 South Ocean Ave. in Patchogue at about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 10, The damage was valued at about $1,000, authorities said. Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest. Tips can be submitted by calling 1-800-220-TIPS.

Covid-19: Tony Falco, Owner Of Popular Hudson Valley Performance Venue, Dies At 65 The owner of a well-known performance venue in the Hudson Valley has died at the age of 65. Anthony "Tony" Falco, of Marlboro, died on Thursday, Oct. 28, after he experienced complications from COVID-19 for six months, according to an announcement from Live at the Falcon, which is located in Ulster County. "A man with many passions and skills, a loving husband and father, and an engaged community leader, Tony is perhaps best known as the owner of The Falcon, the innovative music venue he founded in the early 2000s in Marlboro," his obituary reads. Man Struck, Killed By SUV In Nassau County Police are investigating after a 53-year-old old man was fatally struck by an SUV on Long Island. The Nassau County Police Department reported that the crash happened in Elmont at about 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2. Police said a 71-year-old woman was driving a 2014 Honda CR-V north on Elmont Road near School Road when the Honda struck the man in the roadway. The man suffered severe trauma and was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity has not yet been released. NCPD said the driver remained at the scene. NY State Expands Paid Family Leave Legislation New York Gov. Kathy Hochul has signed a bill expanding the state's Paid Family Leave legislation to include caring for siblings. Robert Durst Indicted For Murder Of First Wife, Westchester DA Announces The Westchester County District Attorney announced that Robert Durst has been indicted for the 1982 murder of his first wife, Kathleen Durst. Durst, age 78, was charged in an indictment on Monday, Nov. 1, with second-degree murder, District Attorney Miriam Rocah announced.
