Stop & Shop Launches Express Delivery Stop & Shop has launched a new online express delivery service in a partnership with Instacart. Stop & Shop Express is available through the company's hundreds of supermarkets, according to a report from Supermarket News. The site reported that the goal of the service is to provide a quick turnaround for those just shopping for a few items. The deliveries can arrive as quickly as 30 minutes after placing an order. The service is available every day from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m., Supermarket News said. There is a $10 minimum and a delivery fee of $2.99.

Authorities Ask For Info After Man Accused Of Robbing Suffolk County Gas Station Authorities are asking the public for help locating a man accused of robbing a gas station on Long Island. A man entered Sunoco in North Amityville at about 11:45 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 4, and threatened a clerk with a beer bottle that he had broken, according to Suffolk County Crime Stoppers. Crime Stoppers said the man demanded money, and the clerk complied. The man then ran away with an unknown amount of cash, authorities said. The gas station is located at 616 Broadway. Authorities Searching For ATV Rider Wanted In Suffolk County Hit-Run Crash Authorities on Long Island are asking the public for help as they investigate a hit-and-run crash involving an ATV and a parked SUV. At about 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 23, a male was riding a black and yellow ATV on Whitetail Lane in Commack, when he struck a parked, unoccupied 2013 Jeep Wrangler, according to Suffolk County Crime Stoppers. Crime Stoppers said the suspect then fled the scene. Authorities are offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest. Tips can be submitted by calling 1-800-220-TIPS.

Covid-19: Link Shown Between Severity, Death From Virus And Smoking, New Study Reveals A new study has found a strong link between smoking cigarettes and severe outcomes from COVID-19 infection. According to a report from News Medical, researchers for the UK Biobank study looked at "primary care records, COVID-19 test results, hospital admissions data and death certificates" to search for associations between smoking and hospitalizations and death from COVID-19. Woman Claims $10 Million NY Lottery Prize A New York woman has claimed a $10 million lottery prize. Yekaterina Plyas, of Brooklyn, won the New York Lottery's $10,000,000 Black Titanium scratch-off ticket, the NY Lottery reported on Tuesday, Oct. 10. She received her prize as a lump-sum payment of $6,122,400 after required withholdings. The Kings County woman purchased the ticket at S&K Warbasse Pharmacy, located at 499 Neptune Ave. in Brooklyn, said NY Lottery officials.

Worker Accused Of Defrauding Hudson Valley Town Out Of Thousands Of Dollars A former employee of a Hudson Valley town was arrested and accused of defrauding the town of more than $14,000 in health care buyout payments he wasn't entitled to. CT Man Admits To Violating Federal Sex Offender Registration, Notification Act A Connecticut man has pleaded guilty to two counts of failing to register as a sex offender. New Haven County resident Christopher Poskus, age 47, of Waterbury, pleaded guilty to the charges on Thursday, Oct. 14, according to Leonard Boyle, acting United States attorney for the District of Connecticut. Long Island Store Clerk Accused Of Selling Alcohol, E-Liquid Nicotine To Minors An employee at a Long Island store is facing charges after police said he sold alcohol and e-liquid nicotine to minors. Ali Zaman, an employee at J Mart & Smoke Shop in Patchogue, was arrested at about 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 11, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
