Yonkers Mayor Pays Tribute To Fallen Firefighter YONKERS, N.Y. -- Mayor Mike Spano has issued a statement on the death of Yonkers Fire Lt. Anthony Mangone. Spano stated: “Fire Lt. Anthony Mangone was a hero in the truest sense of the word. He served his country as a marine and his city as a Yonkers firefighter. “A 21-year veteran of the department, Anthony always made it a priority to give back to the community that gave him so much. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Mangone family and the Yonkers Fire Department.” Mangone, 48, died of natural causes on Tuesday.

Police Dish Out 67 Tickets In Westchester Detail WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The New York State Police conducted a distracted driver enforcement detail on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Westchester County on Tuesday, Jan. 26, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Results of the detail included 34 arrests for speeding, 25 arrests for other vehicle and traffic violations, two cell phone violations, three seat belt violations and three texting violations, according to police. A total of 67 tickets were issued, police report.
