Theater League Of Clifton Staging Murder Mystery CLIFTON, N.J. -- The Theater League of Clifton will present its eighth annual dinner theater fundraiser, "The Multiple Mystery Murder," from Feb. 26 to 28 and March 4 to 6 at Mario's Restaurant, 710 Van Houten Ave. Friday and Saturday shows are at 8 p.m. The Sunday performances are at 4 p.m. Tickets for the event are $40. Former Glen Rock Mayor, Council Members To Be Honored At Party GLEN ROCK, N.J. -- Former Mayor John van Keuren, along with former Council members Joan Orseck and Carmine Nogara, will be honored for their years of service to the borough at a party on Wednesday, March 9, at 6:30 pm at Macaluso's, 161 Rea Ave. in Hawthorne. Yonkers Mayor Pays Tribute To Fallen Firefighter YONKERS, N.Y. -- Mayor Mike Spano has issued a statement on the death of Yonkers Fire Lt. Anthony Mangone. Spano stated: “Fire Lt. Anthony Mangone was a hero in the truest sense of the word. He served his country as a marine and his city as a Yonkers firefighter. “A 21-year veteran of the department, Anthony always made it a priority to give back to the community that gave him so much. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Mangone family and the Yonkers Fire Department.” Mangone, 48, died of natural causes on Tuesday.

Police Dish Out 67 Tickets In Westchester Detail WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The New York State Police conducted a distracted driver enforcement detail on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Westchester County on Tuesday, Jan. 26, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Results of the detail included 34 arrests for speeding, 25 arrests for other vehicle and traffic violations, two cell phone violations, three seat belt violations and three texting violations, according to police. A total of 67 tickets were issued, police report.

Holmes School In Darien Teaches History Through Portraits Of America DARIEN, Conn. -- Fourth-graders at Holmes Elementary School recently learned about paintings from the southeast region of the United States during a Portraits of America presentation in their classroom. Portraits of America is an enrichment program that uses reproductions of famous works of art to reinforce concepts introduced in the social studies curriculum. The presentation was led by Holmes School moms Kelly Miller and Deirdre Rossi.

Carmel Man Arrested On Impaired Driving, Heroin Possession Charges YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have arrested a 25-year-old Carmel resident on charges of driving while impaired by drugs and criminal possession of heroin. Officers were dispatched after it was reported that a motorist was unconscious on East Main Street in the area of Hill Blvd. on Saturday, Jan, 23, at 12:32 p.m., according to police. Teen Due In Court After Incident At CVS Parking Lot In Yorktown YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have arrested an 18-year-old Yorktown resident, whose name is being withheld due to her eligibility for youthful offender status, for a forged driver’s license and possession of marijuana.
