Founded in 1924, the Franklin Lakes Fire Department has served residents for 90 years. The all-volunteer department responds to all fire and rescue calls within the borough, as well as providing assistance to neighboring communities.

A patrol officer observed a gray Subaru traveling at a high rate of speed on Underhill Avenue on Thursday, Jan. 21, at 9:40 a.m., police report. The vehicle was stopped, and the driver was identified as Toni M. Alfonsin, 37, according to police.
