Holiday Ornament Classes Offered at Red Hook Library RED HOOK, N.Y. -- The Red Hook Public Library has been hosting classes on how to make holiday ornaments.Three upcoming classes will teach how to make Origami ornaments, folding paper into such shapes as a Polish star and an accordion sphere. The classes are scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 2, Wednesday, Dec. 9 and Wednesday. Dec. 16 at 5 p.m. To register for one or all of the classes, call 845-758-3241. Greenburgh Supervisor Launches War On Graffiti On South County Trailway GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner has proposed a solution to the graffiti problem on the South County Trailway bike path that he's calling "Graffiti Busters," according to News 12 Westchester. According to the report, the program would call upon Westchester County or "friends of the county parks" to provide volunteers to go around to identify and paint over graffiti areas at least once a month. Former Dutchess County Sheriff Fred Scoralick Of Poughquag Dies Former Dutchess County Sheriff Fred W. Scoralick died Sunday, Nov. 29, at his home in Poughquag, N.Y. He was 80. A Poughkeepsie native, Scoralick was born in 1935. He attended the local schools before graduation from Arlington High School in 1954. His life of service began fairly early. Early in his adult years, he became a volunteer fireman with the Beekman Fire Department. Later, he would become involved with the town of Union Vale, serving on the Planning Board and, for two terms, on the town council.
