Thornwood Couple Return Lost Wedding Gift To Newlyweds TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- A Thornwood couple have left a new bride in awe after they used some solid sleuthing methods to return a gift of several hundred dollars lost during her wedding, according to lohud.com. Fairview Fire District, Marist College Reach Accord On Development POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Marist College and the Fairview Fire District have reached a $2.5 million agreement that would allow the college to expand without opposition, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. A Dec. 9, 2014 "letter of understanding" between the college and the fire district stipulates that the district receive gifts of $2.5 million over the next decade, the Journal reported. Putnam Honors Veterans With 'Operation Defend The Holidays' CARMEL, N.Y. – Putnam County government officials and the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department will be working alongside United for the Troops this holiday season to fund care packages for U.S. servicemen and women overseas. Portions of Bronx River Parkway Will Be Closed Through Sunday WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Portions of the northbound Bronx River Parkway will be closed between Friday and Sunday while maintenance crews work to enhance the drainage system on the Crane Road Bridge.The closure, which begins at 10 p.m. Friday, will require at least two northbound lanes to close between the Sprain Brook Parkway and the Westchester County Center. Those lanes are scheduled to reopen at 4 p.m. Sunday. At least three similar weekend closures are expected along the parkway in the coming weeks, weather permitting.

Remains Found After Plane Crash In Titicus Reservoir Identified NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- The Westchester Medical Examiner's Office has identified remains found in the Titicus Reservoir as those of Val and Taew Horsa, according to News 12 Westchester.The South Salem couple had been missing since a single-engine plane crashed into the reservoir on Nov. 19. Ex-Stamford Man Charged In Connection With 2012 Homicide STAMFORD, Conn. -- A former Stamford man has been charged in connection with the July 2012 homicide of a 21-year-old from Custer Street, according to the Stamford Advocate.
