Ridgewood Church Has Blessing Of Quilts RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- The Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ridgewood recently held its Blessing of the Quilts event. The Bethlehem Quilters make and send to Lutheran World Relief about 57quilts each year. The quilts were displayed over the pews during both worship services. Pastor Philip Tesch blessed both the quilts and the person who would receive each one.  The quilters meet Thursday morning from 10-12 at the church located at 155 Linwood Ave.

Stamford Man Evades Robbery From Teens STAMFORD, Conn. -- A Stamford man reportedly evaded a robbery by a group of teens outside his home on Wednesday night, according to the Stamford Advocate.  The man said he was outside of his home on Roosevelt Ave. when three teens approached him demanding his phone. Edgewater Council Introduces Municipal Budget Monday, EDGEWATER, N.J. -- Edgewater officials will introduce a 2016 budget on Monday, March 21 that will see a slight decrease in taxes for property owners.  The $28 million spending plan is a 4.67 percent increase over 2015, but the tax levy will only increase by 1.71 percent.  The mayor and council changed health providers which will yield a 20 percent savings over the previous year.  On the typical residential property assessment of $460,245 the average amount of municipal taxes to be paid will be $3,523, a $29.00 decrease from the amount paid last year.
