Fort Lee Singer Wins Verismo Opera's Vocal Competition FORT LEE, N.J. -- Fort Lee's Sol Jin received first place in the New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera's 27th Annual International Vocal Competition.Jin, a baritone, won $2,000 for his first place finish and will have the opportunity to perform in Verismo Opera's fully staged upcoming productions. Tenor Emmett O'Hanlon from Manhasset, N.Y., was awarded second place and a $1,000 prize. Soprano Janani Sridhar from New London, Conn. received third place and a $500 prize. Carlstadt Warehouse Bought By Chinese Textile Company CARLSTADT, N.J. -- A Carlstadt warehouse was purchased by a Chinese textile company in January to be used as a distribution center, according to NorthJersey.com.Loftex Logistics, LLC purchased the 53,000 square foot building $12.49 million. The purchase is just another example of the growing demand for warehouse space to better facilitate online shopping, NorthJersey.com reported. Sitex Group built the warehouse at 1 Palmer Terrace after buying the plot in 2013.
