Ridgewood Library Shares Good Reads With Seniors RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Ridgewood Librarian Kerri Wallace spent an afternoon teaching residents at Ridgecrest Senior Housing about the library's services on Friday, Jan. 29.Wallace came with her big blue wagon filled with books that residents could checkout in the comfort of their own home, issued library cards and registered residents for the special talking reader for those that have difficulty holding books or are sight impaired. Alpine Ranks Among Top 10 Activist Hot Spots In Tri State Area ALPINE, N.J. -- Alpine was recently ranked one of the top 10 activist communities in the tri-state area by Care2, a petition website. Norwalk Man Charged With Assaulting Woman Over Missing Cellphone NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk man is facing assault charges stemming from an altercation with a woman over a misplaced cellphone, according to The Hour. Ruben Munguia-Garcia, 47, was reportedly involved in a verbal altercation with the victim over the misplaced phone when things boiled over. The victim claimed Munguia-Garcia had been drinking and slammed her head into a door frame, The Hour reported. Westchester Native Robert Durst Pleads Guilty To Gun Charge Scarsdale native and former South Salem resident Robert Durst pleaded guilty to gun charges in Louisiana on Wednesday, according to multiple reports. The guilty plea will allow Durst to head to Los Angeles to answer to murder charges related to the killing of his friend Susan Berman in 2000, the Los Angeles Times reported. Durst's story gained notoriety when the mysterious story of both Berman's killing and the disappearance of Durst's wife, Kelly in 1982 was documented in the HBO miniseries, "The Jinx," the LA Times said. Convicted Murderer David Sweat Sentenced For Upstate Prison Escape Convicted murderer David Sweat was sentenced to up to seven more years in prison on Wednesday after escaping from a maximum security prison in upstate New York last year, according to multiple reports. Sweat escaped from he Clinton Correctional Facility with fellow inmate Richard Matt, who was shot and killed during the manhunt in June. The search for Sweat ended when he was shot by a State Trooper while attempting to evade authorities.
