Former Westchester Resident Jake Page, Prolific Author, Editor, 80 CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Smithsonian magazine science content editor and prolific author Jake Page, who grew up in Chappaqua, has died of vascular disease at the age of 80 in his home in Lyons, Colo., according to The New York Times. In addition to his science writings, Page is known for several works focusing on the culture of the American Indian, according to the Times. Yorktown Police Charge Cortlandt Manor Woman With Endangering Child YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have arrested a woman from Cortlandt Manor on a charge of endangering a child. The arrest stemmed from a report police received from a staff member of B.J.’s Wholesale Club on Jan. 30, according to officials. Officers were told that a child was left alone in a car, had exited the vehicle and was wandering around, police report. When police arrived at the scene, the child and the guardian were no longer there, officials report. Wappinger Man Charged After Domestic Dispute, Police Say WAPPINGER, N.Y. -- A resident of Wappinger is facing charges after State Police said they responded to a domestic dispute. The arrest was made in connection with the dispute involving damage to two vehicles at a residence in the Town of Wappinger on Jan. 31, police report. The suspect, identified as Joseph G. Todaro, 52, has been charged with criminal mischief in the third degree, a class E felony, according to police.
