The arrest stemmed from an allegation of domestic violence reported by a Putnam Valley woman at police headquarters on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 4 p.m., officials report. An investigation revealed that the woman had allegedly been punched and choked by a male while at a residence on Van Cortlandt Circle earlier in the afternoon; the woman suffered minor injuries, according to police. Greenwich Hospital Giving Newborns Their First Book GREENWICH, Conn. -- Greenwich Hospital began 2016 with a new tradition: every baby born at the hospital will go home with a copy of Nancy Tillman’s “On the Night You Were Born,” as part of the My First Book program. “Studies show reading can foster bonding between parents and their children,” said Kathleen Carley-Spanier, director of community health at the hospital. “It’s also a wonderful way to promote literacy. It’s never too early to start reading to your kids.” A Spanish edition of the book is also being made available.

Yorktown Woman Charged With DWI YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have arrested Edith Coyle-Mishk, 52-year-old Yorktown resident for driving while intoxicated. An officer on a routine patrol on Route 118 allegedly observed a vehicle driving erratically on Saturday, Feb. 6, at approximately 2:05 a.m., police report.
