Retro Themed Party Benefits Ridgewood Middle School RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- The George Washington Middle School Home and School Association is hosting its 1980s-themed “Donate to Innovate” Party on Saturday, Jan. 23, from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Women’s Club of Ridgewood, 215 W. Ridgewood Ave. The event, which will include an auction, will feature the ’80s tribute band Rubix Kube. Proceeds from the festivities will benefit the school's science program. Suspect In Custody In Yonkers Homicide YONKERS, N.Y. -- Yonkers police have arrested a suspect in the homicide of a 50-year-old woman. Officers responded after being notified by security that a possible crime had taken place in an apartment on Schroeder Street on Saturday, Jan. 16, at approximately 12:31 p.m., officials report. A male suspect was standing by with security as responding officers arrived at the scene; he was subsequently taken into custody, according to police.
