Cresskill Schools Hosting Casino Night CRESSKILL, N.J. -- The Middle School/High School Home and School Association is hosting its fifth annual Cresskill Casino Night on Friday, Jan. 29, at SPACE, 491 South Dean Street in Englewood, from 7 to 11 p.m. The event will feature casino games, dinner and dancing in support of the schools. An open bar will be included. Cost to attend is $75 per person, or $130 per couple. Each ticket purchased includes $100 in casino money. Stamford Subway Shop Robbed At Gunpoint STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Stamford Police Department has released video footage of the armed robbery of a Subway restaurant on Shippan Avenue in an attempt to identify the individual who committed the crime. The incident occurred on Thursday, Jan. 14 at approximately 10:10 p.m. at the Subway located at 417 Shippan Ave., according to police. Police Car Strikes Pedestrian In Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. -- A pedestrian was struck by a police car near the intersection of Belden Avenue and Burnell Boulevard in Norwalk on Friday morning, News 12 reports. Shelton Police Charge Man With Possession Of Sawed-Off Shotgun SHELTON, Conn. -- Shelton police have charged a Waterbury man with possession of a sawed-off shotgun. David Balek, 38, was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, possession of a sawed-off shotgun, using fraud to obtain a controlled substance, second-degree forgery and engaging police in pursuit. Balek, who is currently incarcerated on unrelated charges, was held on a $100,000 bond. The arrest stems from an incident on July 13, 2015 when a Walgreens pharmacy on Bridgeport Avenue in Shelton reported that a customer attempted to have a fraudulent prescription filled, police said.
