Bethel's Stony Hill Four Corners Lights Up For Food Drive, Tree Ceremony BETHEL, Conn. -- The Big Y will host its annual food drive and Christmas tree lighting on Saturday, Nov. 21 from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in its parking lot at 83 Stony Hill Road.The food drive runs all day The tree-lighting ceremony is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.  During the ceremony, kids can meet with Santa and Mrs. Claus, join a sing-along, watch the Stony Hill Rockettes, and enjoy refreshments. The food drive collection will be for the Bethel and Newtown food pantries.

Byram Lake Road Will Be Partially Closed NORTH CASTLE, N.Y. -- Byram Lake Road will be partially closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday due to a construction project that will take place from its intersection with Baldwin Road to the north toward the Bedford town line.Byram Lake Road to the south of the Baldwin Road intersection, as well as Baldwin Road itself, will remain open to traffic. Stratford's Boothe Park, Stage Group Receive State Grants STRATFORD, Conn. — The state Department of Economic and Community Department has awarded grant to two nonprofit groups in Stratford that sponsor cultural and historic sites.The grants and amounts went to: The Friends of Boothe Park in Stratford: $60,000 Stratford Stage Group: $125,000 They were among 20 nonprofit organizations across the state to earn grants. Man With Loaded Pistol In Rhinebeck Had No Permit, Police Say RHINEBECK, N.Y. -- Steven Walker, 36, of Erie, Pa., was arrested Oct. 9 by state police for second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana 5th, DWAI-Drug, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and several vehicle and traffic infractions. During a commercial vehicle check on Route 199 in Rhinebeck, Walker's vehicle was stopped and a police search allegedly found about 51.5 grams of marijuana and a loaded Taurus 9mm pistol. Walker did not have a permit to carry the pistol and it was not registered, police said. Walker was arraigned in the Town of Rhine…
