Happy Birthday To Paterson's Mike Adams PATERSON, N.J. -- Happy Birthday to Paterson native Mike Adams!  Adams, who is a defensive back for the Indianapolis Colts, turns 35 on Thursday, March 24.  Adams attended Passaic Tech High School in Wayne, where he helped guide his team to the New Jersey Group 4 state title in 1998. He then went on to play at the University of Delaware before signing with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent in 2004.  Adams also played for the Denver Broncos before signing with the Colts in 2014.  The Paterson native has 704 career tackles and 23 interceptions.

ShopRite of Ramsey Associates Featured on Special Edition Cheerios Box RAMSEY, N.J. -- Two employees of ShopRite in Ramsey are being featured on a special edition Cheerios box in recognition of their fundraising efforts. Harding and Chalas helped raise $19,287 s part of the annual ShopRite Partners in Caring Cheerios Contest.  During the campaign, ShopRite associates across six states raised funds to support regional food banks in communities served by ShopRite stores. As one of the top stores, ShopRite of Ramsey was awarded $500 to donate to the Center for Food Action.

Closter Rec Department Announces Little League Opening Day Festivities CLOSTER, N.J. -- The Closter Recreation Department will hold its annual Little League and girls softball parade and opening day on Sunday, April 24.  All children in grades K-8 are encouraged to march in the parade with their team. The parade will start at the Borough Hall and proceed through town to the George Potterton Little League field. After the opening day ceremonies, games will take place at the various fields in town. Bridgeport Police Identify Suspect In February Murder BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Bridgeport Police are searching for Bernard Brandon, a suspect identified in connection to the murder of Javoni Patton in February, according to CT Post. Authorities hold a warrant for Brandon's arrest on charges of murder, criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit and possessing a weapon in a motor vehicle. Joan D'Alessandro Fund Planting Bushes In Memorial Garden HILLSDALE, N.J. --The Joan Angela D'Alessandro Foundation is hoping to plant eight dwarf English boxwoods in the White Butterfly Sculpture and Garden in Hillsdale. The plants will honor Joan Angela D’Alessandro, a 7-year-old girl scout who was sexually molested and murdered by a neighbor while delivering cookies in 1973. Residents can donate to get the new boxwoods planted by clicking here.  The foundation will also use the funds to provide support to neglected and abused children through fun and educational excursions as well as consultation to victims of crimes.
